What are Campaigns?

Campaigns are a powerful way to add content to multiple pages and keep it in sync across all those pages.

 

You can create, adjust and assign that content centrally without needing to remember all the pages it's displayed on, or adjusting it several times in different locations.

 

Campaigns can be used for marketing content that is transient in nature, like communicating a seasonal sale promotion across your shop, but also for content that is a permanent fixture on your shop, like USP icons or newsletter signup banners that should display homogenously on many pages.

 

 

Campaigns consist of two elemental components:

 

1. Slots

A Slot is a placeholder for content on pages.

 

By default, a Slot is empty and won't render anything, unless Campaign content is assigned to it.

 

A Slot itself can be added into a row of one or more pages (Any type of page: Content pages, product pages or category pages).

 

 

2. Campaign Content

Campaign content can be any content and layout you can create with the Styla editor. Images, Text, Banners, product sliders, etc.

Campaign content can be as small as a single word, and as big as a fully layouted section with several rows and elements.

 

Campaign content gets assigned to a specific slot. It can either be the default content for that slot or a condition can be added that determines on which exact page(s) this campaign content is shown

 

The Campaign content then gets displayed wherever its assigned Slot is added if the display condition is met.

 

If Campaign content is updated, it automatically gets updated in all pages that contain the Slot it is assigned to.

 

 

 

When should I use Campaigns?

Here are some real examples where you could use Campaigns:

• A seasonal promotion banner on all or some pages of your online store.
• A promotion banner only in the Kids section of your online store.
• A trousers size guide below the product description on all the trousers' product pages of your online store.
• Product video: A product 'how-to' video only on the product details page of one product
• Category SEO text: Display text below the category name that helps shoppers and search engines to determine the details of a category

How do I publish Campaign content?

 

To publish a Campaign content, you'll need to:

1. Create the two components:
   1. The campaign content piece itself
   2. A campaign slot to display it in
2. Add the Slot to a page or layout standard 
3. Assign the Campaign content to that Slot

Creating Campaigns

1. Create a Campaign Slot

1. Create a Campaign Slot, by clicking on the "Create slot" button.
2. Give it a name, for instance "Marketing Slot 1"
3. Press save

2. Place the Campaign Slot into a page or layout standard

In this example, we will put the Campaign Slot into the Layout Standard: Header & Footer

1. In the main navigation, go to Settings > Layout Standards: Header & Footer
2. Drag a "Content Slot" module into the location where you would like to render the Campaign content
3. Select the Slot name you created in the previous step: "Marketing Slot 1" 

3. Create a Campaign Content piece

1. In the main navigation, go to Campaigns: Content
2. Click on the "+ Create" button
3. Build the layout and content of your Campaign content

4. Assign the Campaign content to a Slot

1. Once the content is created, click on "Edit entities & Publish" button
2. Select the name of Slot where you want to inject this content (if you are following our example, it should be Marketing Slot 1)
3. Optionally select the display conditions, or leave it as default
4. Click on Assign & Publish" button

Congratulations! Your Campaign Content will be published globally in all pages of your Site, injected in the Marketing Slot 1.
