Presets serve as pre-defined sets of styles and settings for all elements within the editor, streamlining the design process and ensuring consistency across the elements of a store.
Presets can be created, edited and deleted in the Presets manager.
How to access
The Presets manager can be accessed from anywhere in the editor by hovering over the cog wheel in the top right corner and then clicking on Presets in the menu
Content of the Presets manager
The Presets manager consists of two main views: the list view and the edit view. The list view shows all Presets currently available. The edit view allows users to customize the selected Preset by adjusting styles and settings to suit their needs.
The list view
In the list view, users can search for and manage all current Presets.
Adding a new Preset
- To add a new Preset, click on + Create New above the list
- In the pop-up, enter the Preset title
- Choose element type the Preset should be for
- Click on Create
Editing a Preset
To edit an existing or a newly created Preset, you can simply click Edit on the respective Preset. After that, you will see the edit view.
Elements that use a preset are not affected when the preset is edited. To apply the latest changes to an element, the preset needs to be deselected and then reselected.
Duplicating a Preset
You may want to create a new Preset similar to or based on an existing one. You can do that by clicking Duplicate on the respective Preset. After that, you will be navigated to the edit view.
Deleting a Preset
To delete a Preset, you can click on Delete and then confirm the deletion by clicking on Delete in the small pop-up.
Elements that use a preset are not affected when the preset is deleted. To remove the preset from an element, the preset needs to be deselected.
Searching for a Preset
If you have many Presets, you can save time by searching for a specific Preset by name using the search bar above the list
The edit view
In the list view you can define and adjust your Preset.
Editing a Preset is almost identical to the standard page editing experience.
Since the Preset consists of styles and settings, the edit view shows sample content based on the element type to better visualize the Preset.
The Preset’s settings, advanced and custom styling tabs can be edited like a normal element. After editing the Preset, you can click on Save to save your changes.
Applying a Preset
- After creating your Presets, you can make use of them when editing your store.
- You can apply a Preset when editing your content as follows:
- While editing a page, slot content or layout standard, select an element
- Navigate to the Settings tab of your element
- In the Presets dropdown, choose a Preset
Applying a Preset to an element will disable Custom Styling for this element to avoid any conflicts.
The Presets dropdown may not appear on an element if there are no Presets created for this element type
